"Sashimi" Lyrics - December 19, 2010

Hello!

As per a recent request from a fan, below are the lyrics to "Sashimi."

Sashimi

Are you ready? Ready for something new?
Maybe? Did you say, maybe?
Oh come on! Where’s your sense adventure?

We went out for Asian fusion.
There’s no need for mass confusion.
Please don’t jump to a conclusion.
Have a sip of tea infusion!

You won’t need a blood transfusion.
Rid yourself of this delusion
All it is, is an illusion
Can you make this small inclusion?

You can have your Chinese dumplings.
And your Happy Family
But if you want to taste adventure,
I’ll order something new for me………………..

Sashimi,
Sashimi
Sashimi
Sashimi
It’s like sushi…………without the rice.

Now, I know what you are thinking….
Skipping sushi without blinking!?
Something’s wrong, has she been drinking?
Not at all! You caught me winking!

Look at me, I’m not delirious.
Your reaction is mysterious.
Aren’t you the least bit curious?
You don’t have to be so serious.

Share that bowl of peanut dumplings.
I’ll try your Happy Family….
But if you’re looking for adventure….
Taste what I have in front of me………………..

Sashimi,
Sashimi
Sashimi
Sashimi
It’s like sushi…………without the rice.

Did you know that the word “sashimi” actually means pierced body in Japanese?
All you have to do is pick it up with your chopsticks, add just a little bit of wasabi and dip it in the soy sauce! Mmmmmmmmmmmm!

This isn’t chicken teriyaki!
This isn’t beef and broccoli!
Embrace another nomenclature.
A tiny bit of wasabi! (hold solo)

(background vocals)
Sashimi,
Sashimi
Sashimi
Sashimi
It’s like sushi…………without the rice.

Now that wasn’t so bad was it?
It’s an acquired taste and it isn’t for everyone.
Just remember to go easy on that wasabi.
That’s it! Just enough to put some heat on your tongue!

This isn’t chicken teriyaki!
This isn’t beef and broccoli!
Embrace another nomenclature.
A tiny bit of wasabi!

Sashimi,
Sashimi
Sashimi
Sashimi
It’s not sushi………… I miss my rice!

KC Contributes "Sushi Lover" CD to Cancer Fighting Cause - May 8, 2010

Along with 100 Canadian artists and 99 artists from other parts of the world such as the U.K., Ireland, the U.S., Australia, etc., I mailed in a $5 contribution and a "Sushi Lover" CD to help raise funds for brain cancer patient, Kent Pankow of Alberta, Canada. The Canadian government refuses to grant approval for the drug, Avastin that can help treat Kent's brain cancer. In Canada, this drug has been approved for treatment for other cancers EXCEPT BRAIN CANCER.

Other Canadian cancer patients receive Avastin at no cost, while brain cancer patients in Canada are excluded from receiving this life-sustaining treatment. Kent and his family are paying $9,100 (Canadian Dollars)/per month for this cancer treatment, which is an outrage! Imagine having to raise $9,100/month just for medicine! Brain cancer patients should have the same rights to treatment as those with other forms of cancer. If you're on Facebook, more information about this fundraiser can be found here:

http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/event.php?eid=113860021966516
It is important to build international awareness of making cancer drugs available to those that need them.

My CD will be included in a CD GIFT BAG, which will be raffled off at a public event hosted by the musicians who support this campaign to help raise funds to pay for Kent's medical treatments. It's a very big deal! I hope something can be done to help Kent and his family who are facing bankruptcy.

KC to Appear in Second Episode of "Zombie Etiquette" on Princeton TV-30 - May 8, 2010

The taping of the second episode of "Zombie Etiquette" is coming up this Friday and I'm really excited about it! This new episode should be aired the following month several times on Princeton Community Television. The pilot came out pretty good. My contributions to the show are mostly audio zingers throughout the show and I actually appeared on camera a couple of times during the pilot.

KC to Open for Amy Speace at Local House Concert - May 8, 2010

On May 9, I'm scheduled to play a home concert opening for Amy Speace! You can find out more information about Amy at http://www.amyspeace.com. Her musical style falls into the roots/Americana category. I'm thrilled to have this opportunity. This gig is listed on my website and at the bottom of this e-mail. I tried to include the information on myspace but the myspace site doesn't seem to be working as it should.

March 2010 Update - March 21, 2010

"Zombie Etiquette

One day while I was in town for some pizza, I ran into one of my friends who told me about this new show that he's producing for TV-30. He literally tapped me on the shoulder and asked me to be his on-camera "sound effect" person. Now how could I say "no?!"

Two weeks later, equipped with a Roland sound effect workstation, I got captured on tape for the filming of the pilot episode.

More Experimental Theater for KC!

Next month, I'll be back in Philadelphia with the experimental theater project at The Rotunda. The theme for this show is going to be abuse. Both songs were written by Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy. If you don't know who Neil is yet, I suggest that you check out his music: www.thedivinecomedy.com or www.myspace.com/thedivinecomedy.

NEW KC T-SHIRT DESIGN

Thanks to Kelsey Scherler, I now have a KC T-shirt design! You can see a picture of it on myspace and Facebook. FYI, Kelsey’s website is: http://256colors.net/ just in case you’re interested in checking out more of her work.

For my recent New England mini-tour, I printed a limited number of shirts and most of them are GONE already! For now, I’m selling them mostly when I go out to play live. Eventually, I hope to make it available for purchase online. That is of course if there’s enough online demand for it and that the merchandise price and quality is right!

CATHY RETURNS TO CAFE IMPROV IN TWO SHORT WEEKS

In a couple of short weeks, yours truly will be back on Café Improv tickling the ivories on an acoustic piano. This performance will be taped for air at various times in August on Channel 30, Princeton’s Local Cable TV Access Station. The taping is scheduled for Saturday, July 25 starting at 7:00 PM

That's it for now. When I have more news, I'll pass it on.

Always moving forward in the pursuit of Cathiness,

Cathy :)
