New England Mini-Tour 2009 - June 17, 2009

Hello there!

Well, all of my arrangements have been made and I hope to have a nice drive up to the Boston area tomorrow. Unfortunately, rain is in the forecast. I wish that I could say that I'm finished packing. I guess that's something to leave for tomorrow morning. Right now, I'm tired and would like to get some sleep since tomorrow is going to be a very long day.

Until next time,

Cathy :)

P.S. I'd like to thank my dedicated local fans for coming out to see me play tonight and to wish me well for my mini-tour.

Cathy Writes and Performs for "Rite of Passage" - May 28, 2009

Hey there!

I've been keeping very busy these days both musically and otherwise. I guess being busy is a good thing. Mark your calendars for this Saturday when I perform as a part of "Rite of Passage" at The Rotunda in Philadelphia.

KC's May 2009 Update - May 13, 2009

Hello everyone!

Once again, happy spring! All is well! I must say that it feels good to leave the house without a heavy jacket. With the exception of a few rainy days, the temperature has been comfortably warm. With the birds happily chirping and a full calendar, I am pleased to brief you on what's going on in the land of Keyboard Cathy.

Now let's see...... where will I begin?

Reunited

The good news is that, "Roland", my beloved E-600 has returned from the "keyboard hospital." Some of you may know that I had been experiencing occasional technical difficulties. After several months of repeat visits to the repair shop, the technician finally identified that the POWER SUPPLY was the culprit and proposed that it be replaced. Today, when I went to the repair shop to pick up Roland, I was presented with the old power supply, which resembles a bird's eye view of a New Jersey industrial park with its cylindrical gas tanks and warehouse style buildings. "Keep it as a souvenir," suggested the technician as I left the shop. I think I have an honored place in mind for it in my "studio". When I get a chance, I'll upload a picture so that you can see what used to be in my keyboard. It really does look like an industrial plant from the air.

Two Gigs in One Saturday

This coming Saturday morning, Saturday May 16, I will be playing two gigs. One gig involves getting up before the crack of dawn to appear on local cable television as well as world-wide web casting.

Megathon 2009 - 5:30 AM
369 Witherspoon Street
Princeton, NJ 08540

Princeton TV can be viewed on cable channel 30 throughout the Princeton Township/ Princeton Borough on the Comcast Cable System and on channel 45 of Verizon's FiOS system.

The Megathon will also be web cast on May 15 and May 16. Go to http://www.princetontv.org, then just click on the link that will let you watch from your computer ANYWHERE in the world. Those of you in Europe, Asia and the Pacific Rim may have an easier time accessing this performance since it will be going on during the day your time as opposed to the wee hours of the morning.

Don't be surprised if you hear me play something that hasn't graced the myspace page yet. As I have mentioned before, I am compiling new material for the next KC album to be released at some point in the future. Please don't ask me when because I don't know yet.

After that, I will be playing a forty five minute set at Pennington Day at

10:00 AM at the small stage at Howe Commons off of Main Street. I'm looking forward to seeing fans that I haven't seen since last year's event.

KC Contributes Two Songs to "Rite of Passage: In Excess"

Back in December, I got on the mailing list for The Rotunda Theater in Philadelphia, PA. A new type of theatrical experiment called "Rite of Passage" was in its infancy phase. In January, I performed in "Phase I" of the project, which consisted of a variety show of sorts.

At the end of this month,we are scheduled to perform, "Phase II", which is a cohesive program with the theme of "In Excess". I wrote what could qualify as a title song. A brief reprise to this title song will be toward the end of the program. I hope that one day, I will get around to writing a full musical. For now, with the help of my sequencer, I'm happy to "orchestrate" my contributions to "Rite of Passage".

Closing Credits from The Quasi Late Show Now Up on Youtube

By the way, for those of you who haven't had time to watch the complete episode yet of The Quasi Late Show with Joe Pera featuring yours truly, you can catch the closing credits on Youtube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCLWWOUpeXA where I'm serenaded by the one and only Z-gress and then we closed out the show with a "Sushi Lover" singalong. This show was shot on location at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York and can be viewed at the website listed below:

That's it for now! Lately, I've just keeping busy and staying out of trouble.

Keyboard Cathy on WXLV 90.3 FM Radio Sunday 4/26/2009 at 5:00 PM - April 13, 2009

Hi everybody!

I hope that you had a wonderful Easter! For me, it was a very relaxing weekend spent with family. Remember last week, when I was taping some radio footage to air on the Phil Stahl Show? My ten song set can be heard on live FM Radio, Sunday, April 26 on WXLV 90.3 FM, which serves the beautiful Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. More information about the Phil Stahl Show on WXLV 90.3 FM can be found right here:

http://philstahl.indiegroup.com/index.html

The good news is that there is internet streaming of this show so that you can listen to it on your computer! Isn't that cool?

By the way, I uploaded a few pictures from my April 3rd gig with the SpiTUNEs at John and Peter's.

Have a great week! I'll keep you posted.

Cathy :)

APRIL UPDATE - K.C. Opens for SpiTUNE Tonight 4/3/09 - April 3, 2009

Happy Spring!

It's such a refreshing change from the cold, cold winter, isn't it? I'm currently getting ready for tonight's show at John and Peter's in New Hope, PA. If you're in the area and you can make it, I'd love to see you. By the way, I just put up some photos from last week’s gig.

We had a blast playing for such a supportive audience of dedicated fans. To those of you who came out to see us, thank you so much! It was an enjoyable evening.

Another piece of news is that the “Sashimi” video recently broke five thousand views on Youtube! Two thousand views happened in just one week after making a slow and steady climb to three thousand since the video went up five months ago. Much to my astonishment, the video was recently shown prominently on the “N.M.E” (short for “New Music Express”) website, which is a huge music magazine in the United Kingdom. This was fantastic exposure! I'll continue to keep you posted!

KC News & Live Dates - March 1, 2009

Hi everybody!

Well, here we are on the first day of March with a
weather forecast of SNOW. You know what they say about March; it
comes in like a lion and comes out like a lamb. With snow on the radar screen, I guess you can say that it’s coming in like a polar bear this year in my area. As a reminder if you haven’t become a fan of my music on FACEBOOK yet, I invite you to do so at:

Anyway, regarding live shows, we certainly have a lot to catch up on. My calendar now has some new gigs including two at John and Peters and one more gig to add to my New England mini-tour in June.

KC FAN PAGE FACEBOOK LINK! - February 16, 2009

Hello friends!

Navigating around on Facebook these last few days has been pretty interesting to say the least. Below is the link to my official musician's fan page.

If you're a fan of my music, this is the Facebook page to visit. Of course there are some things that are still missing but at least you shouldn't get lost this time. I don't see anything wrong with joining the other fan pages as well but this is the only official one.

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Keyboard-Cathy/50202172954
Have a great week!

Always moving forward in the pursuit of Cathiness,

OFFICIALLY AUTHENTIC KC FACEBOOK PAGE NOW UP! - February 12, 2009

Greetings friends and faithful companions on my musical journey!

Due to popular demand for an official Keyboard Cathy Facebook page, one is officially up! All you have to do is search in Facebook and you'll find me. I had to remove the old Facebook link to myspace since a hacker did evil things to it so that myspace would block it. I assure you that a new one will be up soon.

You know? I was kidding myself into thinking that the iLike page from garageband.com was going to suffice as a Facebook page. What good is a profile where I can't even see who my friends are! Anyhow, I will be updating more information up there. Two gigs in New Hope are planned for the near future so please keep your eyes pealed.

Always moving forward in the pursuit of Cathiness,

Cathy :)

P.S. To those of you who created fan pages in my honor, thank you so much! It's nice to know that people are listening.

February Update - See KC Online on the Quasi-Late Show with Joe Pera - February 4, 2009

Hi there!

I have just been informed that the footage from my appearance on the Quasi-Late Show with Joe Pera is now up for viewing. You may click on the below hyperlink to check it out (and please be patient since it might come out very slowly in the beginning):

http://www.ictv.org/show/QuasiLateShow/
The episode with me is labeled with my picture. This was the show, which was taped in October up at Ithaca College and it features me singing, "Sushi Lover" (with audience participation), "Miracle Worker" (with me much louder than my keyboard) and "Sashimi" (complete with "cool" shades in Divine Comedy tribute).

What I love about this show is its fun, Saturday Night Live flavor. We had such a blast during the taping and the studio was full of such energy and excitement!

I'm pretty sure that watching this special episode of the Quasi Late Night Show with Joe Pera will make you smile if not, laugh out loud at least several times. We were all in such a naturally giddy mood that night.

Enjoy!

Always moving forward in the pursuit of Cathiness,

Cathy :)

P.S. New live gigs for February and March have just been posted as well as a few pictures from my "Rite of Passage" show in Philadephia this past Saturday. ;)

KC to Perform at "Rite of Passage" Show at the Rotunda in Philadelphia, PA 1/31/09 - January 21, 2009

Hi there!

I have great news! I'm going to be a part of the "Rite of Passage" show" at the Rotunda in Philadelphia, PA. This particular live show is an experimental, theatrical foray into various different rites of passages and rituals that we have in life. The nice thing about my original music is that it can easily be incorporated into this type of show.

If you're in the Philadelphia area and have no plans for 7:30 PM, Saturday night, January 31, 2009, I hope to see you there. Let's just hope that the weather will be good to facilitate a nice smooth trip into the City of Brotherly Love.

Always moving forward in the pursuit of Cathiness,

Cathy :)

KC Announces New England Mini-Tour/"Peanut Butter" Coming Soon to iTUNES - January 14, 2009

Hi there!

Is it cold enough for you? It is for me. Fortunately, my live gigs take place inside where it's nice and warm, not outside in the snow and the ice. A lot of things are in the works!

1. I'm planning a New England mini-tour for this June, which will include a performance at the "Between Friends Next Generation Theater" in Brewer, Maine. This is a venue that was brought to my attention last summer when I was visiting Maine. On the way up, I hope to also play somewhere in Boston. As soon as I have more details, I will keep you posted. Please message me if you have any suggestions for venues.

2. "Peanut Butter" has just been sent to iTUNES and other services. As soon as it's officially up, I'll let you know.

3. Keyboard Cathy has been selected to be a featured act at the Tritone Open Mic. This featured set will probably occur after the weather warms up a little when inclement weather like snow or ice will not be an issue.

4. KC will also play live on Phil Stahl's radio show in April. More details will follow at a later date.

That's it for now! I hope this update finds you well. You know I'll keep you posted.

Always moving forward in the pursuit of Cathiness,

Cathy :)

KC to Videotape Tomorrow for The Phil Stahl Show! - December 28, 2008

Hi everybody!

I hope that you had a very Merry Christmas holiday! For those of you who celebrate holidays other than Christmas, I wish you all happy holidays, whatever they may be. My Christmas holiday was lots of fun and I got an unexpected surprise. Check it out in the November/December, 2008 folder of my pictures on myspace, www.myspace.com/keyboardcathy.

Just when I thought that I had no more gigs other than open mics for the remainder of the year, I heard from Phil Stahl, who puts together a East Greenville, Pennsylvania Cable TV show featuring unsigned musicians, yesterday.

Tomorrow, I'm scheduled to be videotaped for feature on one of the show's future episodes. http://www.thephilstahlshow.com is the official website and http://www.myspace.com/thephilstahlshow is the myspace page.

I don't know much about the local cable TV station schedule of when it's going to air but I'm sure it will appear at some point on the website. My music will also be heard on Phil's radio show sometime in April, April 8 to be exact. More information to follow.

As the end of the year approaches, I'm still moving forward in the pursuit of Cathiness. I plan to fill 2009 with music and optimism.

Later!

Cathy :)

PEANUT BUTTER (With Production Credits) IS HERE!!!!!!!!! - December 19, 2008

It's up and playing on myspace, www.myspace.com/keyboardcathy NOW! I hope you enjoy it. This is a song that I actually started playing live way back in January. Someone at an open mic over the summer suggested that I make up a studio version and lo and behold, it's finished. Until I get a beefed up MP3, go ahead and crank it up for best results.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy listening to the new track. I hope to make it available on iTUNES very soon.

Happy Holidays!

"PEANUT BUTTER" TO PREVIEW BEFORE X-MAS, NEXT FRIDAY 12-19-08!!!! - December 12, 2008

Hello!

Everything is moving along as planned in the pursuit of Cathiness! Yesterday, I added a few new pictures to my November/December album on myspace with hopes that you will stop by to have a look. Thanksgiving Night opening for "Sinking Ship" was so much fun. I'd like to thank some of you for coming out to share a fabulous night of musical energy. Needless to say, I've been very busy playing out and working on my latest studio track. I'm also looking forward to my upcoming show at The Bitter End on Sunday, December 14 at 7:00 PM.

Let's just say that I'm pleased to announce that my latest studio effort, "Peanut Butter" will preview on myspace one week from today, Friday, December 19, 2008. This song has been very well received whereever I play it live ever since the first time I played it last January at John & Peter's in New Hope, PA.

Very soon, I will also make it available for sale on iTUNES along with "Sashimi" as an individual single. I thought about waiting until after Christmas but I decided that it would be much more fun to preview this release prior to everyone going home for the holidays. It won't be long now, my friends.

I'd like to thank all of my friends at Starbucks in Warren and Basking Ridge for hosting many of my gigs as well as John and Peter's for helping to connect me with other musicians. I would also like to thank all of my family and friends (both on and off myspace) for being so supportive of my music. I don't think I have ever been the same since the spring of 2005. There is NO going back!

Hang in there! The new studio track is coming soon!

Cathy ;)

P.S. When you see a new picture of me as my default photo, you will know that the new song is up and playing on myspace!!!

REMINDER - Cathy Airs on Radio Volta TONIGHT, 10-27-08 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM EDT - October 27, 2008

Hi everybody!

As a reminder, I will be on Radio Volta, which broadcasts into cyberspace live from Philadelphia TONIGHT this coming Monday, October 27 from 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. Eastern Daylight Savings Time! Even though it's late in the day for European listeners, I hope that those of you across the Atlantic can also join us.

If you're planning to tune in, I suggest that you make sure that you can hear the radio station on your computer beforehand so that you won't miss it. Apparently, logging on is supposed to be snap. You can give it a test run now.
go to www. radiovolta. org, and at the top left of the home page, you will see 2 things that look like ears. Click either ("high" is better) or low and your media player will open, connect in a few seconds, and that's it. It wasn't that easy for me only because my media player wasn't up to date until now, after a couple of hours of technical support. My advice is to not wait until the last minute to test it out.

Anyway, between 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM, I will be interviewed on the "The Owl's Roost with Eric & Hedwig". After 8:00 PM, I have been given an opportunity to help "dee-jay", which I have never done before in my life. You'll have to tune in to find out who is on my playlist. I guarantee you that it will include a few of my favorite artists.

Always moving forward in the pursuit of Cathiness,

Cathy

Outcome of KC’s First Ever Mini-Tour - October 15, 2008

Hi there!

Armed with my keyboard and a very good friend of mine to accompany me, I took on my first ever mini-tour this past weekend. I just got back on Monday from my mini-tour of upstate New York where I performed on the Quasi Late-Night Show with Joe Pera. I must say that it was wonderful weekend full of unforgettable adventures. The pictures from my trip complete with captions are up on myspace in case you're interested in taking a look.

Friday night was a late night in PA where we were very lucky that we didn't get lost taking the back roads. We arrived at the venue to discover that it was going to close in a half an hour and it wasn't worth setting up and playing.

On Saturday, we drove up to a nearby winery and almost found a wonderful place to walk near Duck Harbor. We took off for Binghamton sometime in the late afternoon to settle in and then take off for Johnson City where there was a Karaoke night going on at a bar populated with locals, many of whom were bikers. It wasn't too hard to convince the Karaoke people to let me bring my keyboard and play a couple of my original songs.

Sunday was another beautiful day when I when I had breakfast at a Cracker Barrel and then headed up to Ithaca College. We met a lot of nice people up there including Joe Pera and Zachary "Z-gress" Gresser. After a sushi dinner in town, we got ready for the show and had the time of our lives during the taping. I also sold a few CDs.

We ended the weekend with a hike in the Delaware Water Gap on the way home and reminisced about the great time we had upstate. I hope to take other mini-tours in the future. If you can, I hope you can make it out to see me if it's convenient for you.

Enjoy the rest of the week and more news will be coming your way soon!

Always moving forward in the pursuit of Cathiness,

Cathy :)

P.S. When footage from the show becomes available on the internet, I will let you know.
